The Treatment

On arrival I walked into the gorgeous Spa reception where a friendly receptionist (Ms. B) and the very helpful Spa Coordinator (Ms. Jade. L) made me feel welcome. After explaining the best treatments on offer in impressive detail, she escorted me to the changing rooms which provide fluffy towels, a bathrobe, slippers and have a clever touch screen locker (no need for old school padlocks and the drama of losing keys). When I was ready she proceeded to show me the various rooms including a Spa café, a thermal suite with a detox crystal steam room, experience showers and an aromatherapy sauna.  The Overall look is elegant, tastefully decorated, stunning yet not overpowering. A tranquil spacious zone with a seaside vibe.

I chose the Gold Champagne facial, not because of the glass of champagne that comes with the treatment (I know… it’s a refreshing incentive) but because am fascinated by the tremendous benefits Gold has to the skin. As a trend, Gold has taken over the beauty scene and not only for the glamour, it is here to stay. There are proven anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties in Gold.

Don’t take my word for it, let’s see the expert…

Enter Hannah my Professionally Trained therapist. Hannah picked me up from the relaxation rooms and explained to me in detail how the gold particles prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Gold has also been shown to uniquely reduce inflammation and decrease cell degradation. I got ready for the treatment, reclined on the massage bed for the facial and let her magic hands begin their work .

First, she removed my make-up and cleansed my skin before exfoliating and applying a compress. This is to firm the skin, ready for gold and caviar mask. She then applied the mask with her fingers in such intricate detail away from my covered eyes. The sensation on my skin was a firm tingle that I quite enjoyed it (I love that feeling, that little tingle that shows the product is at work). Once the mask application was finished she expertly massaged my hands, arms and shoulders which was absolutely relaxing.

Hannah was really a joy to be around, professional and yet very personable. She made the entire experience a delight which could only be topped up by how amazing my face looked afterwards.

A terrific glow and a happy smile later, I left the Spa knowing I have found the best kept secret in Brighton Wellness. Anyone looking for some rejuvenation and pampering in Brighton should head Straight to the Spa at the Grand.
